Digital Sky

The DGCA's online platform for drone registration and flight permission — all commercial drone operators in India must register their aircraft and file flight notices here.

Digital Sky is the DGCA's online platform for drone regulation in India. It handles drone registration, issuance and management of drone certificates, and the Airspace Permission system that operators must use before each commercial flight.

Before a flight, operators submit a flight request through Digital Sky specifying the location, altitude, drone type and duration. The system automatically checks the request against the airspace classification — Green (permitted without specific permission), Yellow (advance notice required), Red (explicit DGCA clearance required) — and either permits the flight or flags it for review.
