Context
Heritage Architecture Foundation is a public charitable trust based in Coimbatore that surveys and documents India's historic built environment.
Their work involves measuring buildings by hand and instrument, producing precise drawings and recording oral histories. They needed a platform to organise and present this growing body of research.
The challenge
Academic and architectural research often gets buried in dense formats or generic templates that undersell its rigorous nature.
The foundation needed a site that could handle varied media - from scaled architectural drawings to detailed field notes and photographs - without losing clarity or credibility.
What we built
A clean, structured institutional website designed around documentation. We created specific content architectures for their field records, research publications and public walks.
The design gets out of the way, letting the architectural drawings and field photographs take centre stage while remaining fast and easy to navigate.
What changed
The foundation now has a credible, long-term home for its records. Researchers, donors and students can browse the trust's work efficiently, understanding the depth of the documentation at a glance.
- Live at heritagearchitecturefoundation.org
- Structured repository for architectural field notes and surveys
- Clean, scholarly design focused on readability
