Heritage Documentation·Fillable template

Heritage Documentation Brief Template

Agree the scope of a heritage documentation project before any fieldwork begins. Fill this in with the client or custodian so that objectives, protection status, deliverables and standards are recorded and signed off in one place. Applicable to photogrammetry, laser scanning, drone survey and HBIM projects.

Free to use. Print, or use Print → Save as PDF to download and fill.

How to use this template

A documentation project fails most often not in the field but in the brief — because scope, accuracy and deliverables were never written down and agreed. This template converts a verbal request into a recorded agreement. Fill every field; where a field does not apply, write "N/A" rather than leaving it blank so both parties can see it was considered.

Complete it with the client, owner or custodian present. Print two copies, sign both, and keep one with the project file. The signed brief becomes the reference against which change requests and final delivery are measured.
